I am off to a really cold part of America, Alaska the Northern part. I really want to take my camera out in the elements with me but I am not sure what to do about “Winterizing” it. The camera manual tells me it operates at conditions above 0 and while 0 is pretty low, I may be faced with conditions in the negatives.
I cannot pass up the opportunity to take my camera with me. I get all flustered when I think about the possibilities I could miss out on, like the Northern Lights. I get this feeling that no matter what the cost I have to bring my camera with me. I am the type of photographer that would sacrifice any piece of gear for “the shot” even my camera body.
Does anyone have any valuable tips for winterizing my camera, or how I can prepare myself when I take it out in negative weather?
Regardless I am taking it with me! I will tell you how it goes and bring back any tips I come up with while working in the field!
