How To Create Lightning In Photoshop CS 6

My recent submission for the HDR Concert contained self made lightning.  I know I know, I should have used real lightning from a real picture, but believe it or not, it didn’t look right when I did.  So I did a quick Google search and found an awesome tutorial that I used for a jumping off point.  This tutorial was great for creating the lightning, but it kind of left me hanging when I went to incorporate it into my final composition.  After several painstaking minutes of fumbling, failing, and every other f word in between, I figured it out!

The following tutorial will not only show you how to make a lightning bolt it will show you how simple it is to incorporate it into any composition.  Take a look, fake some lightning and fool your friends… there were a lot of f words in this post…
