HDR Photography and the Ten Step Program

I have read a lot of articles on HDR photography, many of them good, some of them just bashing it, but never have I read one that so accurately portrayed me.  My friend Paul Ciura sent me this article recently about the Ten Steps Every HDR Photographer Goes Through.  I must admit, many of them if not all of them,  I can relate to.

Take a look at this list and see where you fit in, sadly, I am locked in Step 4.  I am not sure if that is good or bad, though.  I haven’t yet held a seminar in my home town, but don’t think I haven’t thought about it!  Well heck, since I am at it, I will embed one of my favorite Youtube screen casts!

I enjoyed reading the link to the 10 steps of the HDR photographer. While I don’t offer any tutorials and am not as good as you are with HDR, I think I just made it into stage number 4. I suspect there are stages that one may skip over as they advance through the list.

I also enjoyed the video on the curves adjustments. That is a new way to do some of the things I have been doing. I will give your idea a spin and see if I like it better than my current workflow.

I feel it is a pretty accurate list and pretty funny! I know a lot of the pro’s say the curves adjustment layer is old school technology, but I feel it still has a major place in any workflow.
