Fixing HDR Night Skies

So one thing I hate about long exposure photography is the noise that occurs in the black sky, even at ISO 100.  Now take that noise frustration and multiply it times 5 when working with HDR long exposures.  How do you fix it?  Do you sacrifice the awesome look of the foreground during tone mapping to try and get the background to look somewhat appealing?  I say nope!  Sample the +1 EV exposure for it’s nice midnight blue gradation and continue on post processing!

This tutorial will show you some more advanced selection techniques to help sample that night sky from the +1 EV exposure and get that HDR long exposure looking perfect.
