This weeks video tutorial is focused on creating an HDR image in Photomatix Pro 4.0. I have gone over this pretty thoroughly here, however, that is a lot of reading! This video tutorial gives you a decent crash course in Photomatix and helps calm the nerves amongst all the intimidating slider bars!
One thing to remember, all of these slider bars and movements are subjective to the individual moving them! You are the HDRtist you decide the outcome, I will provide the mentoring

By “decent” I am going to go with the 1st definition in Miriam Webster’s Dictionary meaning, appropriate or well-formed as opposed to the 4th definition meaning fairly good. HDRsoft thought it was well-formed or they wouldn’t have put it on their website! Now that the interpretation of a written comment without the use of body language or facial gestures is over, I can get onto the rest of my response! I use Photomatix and a ton of Photoshop, I have several (28 to be exact) tutorials that go through my process and post process. I tried light room once, but I am an avid layer guy, I love layers, I am addicted to layers, bring on a 97 layer image!
I took a look at your website. Your HDR work is very impressive. Every time someone introduces themselves as an HDR Photographer I always cringe imagining their work to be over saturated with milky clouds. I am so glad you are not of the like! Your work shows the truth as to how you saw the image and utilizes HDR to it’s maximum capacity. Very decent
