Allow Me To Introduce You

Blog visitor this is Ship Rock, Ship Rock this is Blog visitor.  This is my favorite location in the world, I have actually requested in my Will that my ashes be spread here.  This is a little beach called Ship Rock is about 10 miles north of Santa Cruz CA.  It is just off of Highway One, but you have to be careful, if you blink you will miss it!

I used to visit this place about once every other month or so.  My wife and I brought a tent down there and had a little picnic one time.  You can get to that little out cove of sand from the road after traversing a pretty steep hill.  Once you are down there, you pretty much have the entire beach to yourself.

Photo Tip:

When shooting a panorama like this one consider changing the orientation of your camera based on the type of pano you are shooting.  For this horizontal pano I shot it with my camera positioned for a portrait (vertical).  It may take more pictures to get all of the subject matter, but you will have much more surface area in your final pano.  If shooting a vertical panorama, turn you camera horizontal to get more in on the left and right side.
